There are seasons in life where it feels like we are standing at a crossroads. The future may feel uncertain, transition may feel uncomfortable, and the next step may not always be clear. In those moments, God continually calls His people to trust Him and move forward in faith.
In 1 Samuel 7, the people of Israel found themselves in a season of renewal and rededication to God. After years of spiritual drift and compromise, God called His people back to wholehearted dependence on Him. Samuel challenged Israel to put away false idols, return fully to the Lord, and trust God for victory.
This story reminds us that spiritual renewal begins when God’s people stop depending on themselves and start depending fully on Him.
Faith is not pretending to have all the answers. Faith is choosing obedience even when the path ahead feels uncertain. In everyday life, that means trusting God when decisions feel difficult, remaining faithful during seasons of waiting, continuing to pray when answers seem delayed, and moving forward even when fear tries to hold us back.
After God gave Israel victory, Samuel set up a stone called Ebenezer and declared:
12 “Up to this point the Lord has helped us!” — 1 Samuel 7:12
That reminder still matters today. As we look ahead to the future, we also remember God’s faithfulness in the past. The same God who has carried us before will continue to lead us forward.
This message is an invitation to trust God more deeply, surrender fully to Him, and step into the future with courage and faith. God is faithful, and when His people move forward in dependence on Him, He continues to work powerfully among them.
